Bluebirds Lose Late to Sluggers
|
Both offenses were relatively subdued at Kentucky Truck Plant Stadium. Fortunately for the Louisville Sluggers, though, Dave Armstrong was able to deliver in the clutch. He belted 2 home runs, to lead his team past the Nashville Bluebirds, 3-1. The save went to Ford Prefect, his 26th this season. Louisville is now 58-54.
Louisville took a 2-1 lead on Justin Weatherford's 17th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Weatherford hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Nashville pitcher Carlos Williams visibly frustrated.
Armstrong described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
