Gamblers Take Tight Tilt, 2-1
|
The Atlantic City Gamblers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Ángel Medina, who muffled the Cape Fear offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Gamblers win at The Ballpark at Bally's. The save was credited to Jesús Martínez, his 29th. Atlantic City currently is in third place in the Johnson League Atlantic Division at 62-51.
The Gamblers got a big at-bat from shortstop Jafar Seif al Din. For the game, Seif al Din went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Atlantic City a 2-1 lead.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Medina.
