It was a parade of hits for Joel Carruth of the Falkland Island Defenders at Falkland Stadium.

Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Carruth finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Defenders to a win, 8-7.

"Carruth was really good and we were really bad," groaned Leones manager Domingo Carmona. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."

Joel Carruth hit a solo-shot off Aksobhya Chander in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

So far this year, Carruth has 14 home runs and a .352 batting average.
