Bluebirds Paste 4-1 Loss on Sluggers
|
Nashville Bluebirds starter Eric Stevens led his team to victory over the Louisville Sluggers, 4-1. The right-hander was locked-in. Stevens yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 14-4. The win puts the Bluebirds at 70-44, while the Sluggers drop to 58-56.
In the bottom of the seventh, Ricardo Capeles stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Sluggers were trailing 3-0, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when José Torres made a terrific pitch and Capeles popped out. Gone was the dream of a Louisville comeback.
