Assateague Advances to Round 2
The fans in Assateague are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Kingston.

The Assateague Ponies finished off the Kingston Kodiaks 8-2 in the deciding game of the Round 1 played at Swords Ballpark.

They took the series 4-3 and will now head to the Round 2.

For his standout play, Assateague third baseman Ya'qub bin Naim was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.

He batted .345, drove in 3 runs and scored 5 to lead his club to victory.

"We could never really figure out how to pitch to bin Naim and that doomed us," said Kodiaks manager Javier Venegas. "Hats off to Assateague, though. That was a great series."

The Assateague Ponies don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Bend Wild Things - Traverse City Talons series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The Round 2 is scheduled to begin on August 26th , 2064.
