Cotterell Gets 8-0 Shutout
|
William Cotterell bent a little, but he didn't break against the Ulaanbaatar Battalion. The Hiroshima Koi pitcher hurled a 3-hit, 8-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering 1 walk and tallying 7 strikeouts.
"William is good at getting out of jams," Koi manager Hilmar Linstrum told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
So far this season, Cotterell is 4-and-1 with no saves and a 2.55 ERA. He has given up 30 hits in 35.1 innings with 31 strikeouts.
