Schooners Win The Face Off
|
One thing is certain -- the Coxen Hole Schooners and Punto Fijo Drillers left it all on the field.
In a back-and-forth The Face Off that went to the final game, the Schooners prevailed at Drillers Estadio de Beisbol today to advance to the The Showdown. Coxen Hole won the deciding game 5-1 to capture the series 2-1.
"In a series that close, you feel fortunate to come out on top of it," said Mariano Ortíz, who was named series MVP.
Ortíz put up a 1.50 ERA over 6 innings pitched, with a 2-0 record.
The Coxen Hole Schooners will play against the Daytona Beach Cruisers in the next round. Daytona Beach won their series against the Cayman Islanders 2 games to 1. The The Showdown is scheduled to begin on August 30th , 2064.
