The Showdown Goes the Distance, Daytona Beach Prevails
The sweet swing of Héctor Leal has led his team through the The Showdown.

The Daytona Beach Cruisers star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Punto Fijo Drillers to advance to the Supremacy Series.

The Cruisers won the final game at Drillers Estadio de Beisbol by a score of 7-6 and the series 2-1.

"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Leal. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."

For the series, Leal hit .417 with a .462 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Daytona Beach Cruisers will play against the Hermosillo Naranjeros in the next round. Hermosillo won their series against the Cat Island Pirates 2 games to 0. The Supremacy Series is scheduled to begin on September 6th , 2063.
