Portland Win Evens Series at 2
|
The Portland Lumberjacks and the Long Beach Surfers will take the Geoghegan Round to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation, the Lumberjacks shut out the Surfers, 8-0, at Vito Costantino Memorial Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Portland right-hander John O'Leary did his part. He threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball.
O'Leary confounded Long Beach hitters. Over 9 innings, he allowed no runs on 8 hits.
"John was able to execute his pitches," said Portland manager Mons Raider. "Simple as that."
The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, October 5th , 2061 at The Trail in Multnomah in Portland.
