Davidson, Kernels Wallop Tropics in Game 3 of GR
The Des Moines Kernels have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Hawaii Tropics, winning, 6-2, at Kid Krauss's Kum & Go Kourtyard. Kernels first baseman Dan Davidson went 2-2 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win cuts the deficit facing the Kernels to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Geoghegan Round.

With the game tied, 1-1, in the bottom of the fifth, Davidson had a key at-bat for Des Moines. With a runner on 2nd, Davidson hit a 2-run home run off Kinzo Iwamoto, making the score 3-1, Kernels.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Des Moines manager Mel Jenkins.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Kid Krauss's Kum & Go Kourtyard in Des Moines.
