Raucous ‘Iolani Palace Crowd Propels Tropics to 10-1 Victory; Series Tied at 2
The Hawaii Tropics knotted up the Doubleday Series at ‘Iolani Palace, thanks in large part to right fielder Vincente Méndez. Méndez was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 as he overpowered the Nashville Bluebirds, enabling Hawaii to grab the 10-1 win and move into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.

Méndez had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth to put Hawaii in front, 8-0. With the bases loaded, he hit a bases-clearing double off Nashville pitcher Chris Rader.

"It's always fun to score a lot of runs," said Méndez.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at ‘Iolani Palace in Honolulu.
