Twin Cities Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
The Twin Cities River Monsters faced a challenging opponent in Sacramento Mad Popes left-hander Mario Reyes, but did just enough to squeak out a 3-2 win in Game 2 of the Doubleday Series. Twin Cities now leads 2-0 in the best-of-7 series. The River Monsters won despite the Mad Popes getting an excellent start from starter Reyes, who allowed no runs and scattered 5 hits over 6.2 innings.

Twin Cities won the game in part because of Octávio Sánchez. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the River Monsters ahead, 3-2. For the game, Sánchez had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Sánchez.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Land O' Lakes Ballpark in St. Paul.
