River Monsters Clip Bluebirds, 4-3, in CC Contest
|
The Twin Cities River Monsters have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Nashville Bluebirds, winning, 4-3, at Land O' Lakes Ballpark. River Monsters right-hander Erik Brooks threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the River Monsters to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Cartwright Cup.
Twin Cities took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Parker Clontz hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring River Monsters fans to their feet.
Clontz attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Land O' Lakes Ballpark in St. Paul.
