The Sacramento Mad Popes rode a solid performance from 29-year-old starting pitcher Rafael Taboada to a win, beating the Bikini Krill, 7-1, at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough. In 6 innings, Taboada surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The Mad Popes go to 67-49, putting them second in the Frick League Pacific Division.

Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough seemed to enjoy watching the Frick League action.

"I didn't leave too many pitches out over the plate," said Taboada.
