Host Flyers Drop Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2
|
In a pivotal Game 5, the Nashville Bluebirds were hoping for a big game from starter Eric Stevens. They got one.
The right-hander shut out the Charlotte Flyers, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 5-0 victory. The Bluebirds took the 5-0 win over the Charlotte Flyers to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Stevens, who was born in Tracy, California, threw 91 pitches over 6.2 innings, while allowing no runs.
"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Stevens.
Game 6 is scheduled for Saturday at Les Paul Field in Nashville.
