The Boise Spuds defeated the Phoenix Talons, 6-2, at Denny's Paul D. Lunn Memorial Stadium Presented By Subaru. Juan Silva was one of the standouts for Boise. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 triple -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. The win was credited to former first round draft pick Tariku Jabiri in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Ernesto Juárez took the loss. The save went to Mario Santos, number 20 for him.

Bill Kuhn had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the seventh for the Spuds. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Boise trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Boise skipper Mario Contreras.

With the victory, the Spuds record stands at 49-69.
