Black Sox Flatten Sluggers, 10-2
|
Chicago turned a fine outing from starter Stevie Bodine into a victory over the Louisville Sluggers at Kentucky Truck Plant Stadium. The final score was 10-2. Bobby Sherman closed it out for Chicago, earning his 1st save. The Black Sox saw their win-loss record go to 58-60. At the same time, the Sluggers fell to 54-65.
Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Marcos Echevarría to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Black Sox ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I wish every win came this easy," said Echevarría.
