Surfers shortstop Steveland Morris put his stamp on his team's 5-2 win over the San Fernando Bears. Morris was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 for Long Beach in the contest. Long Beach reliever Joe MacLeod picked up the win to move to 4-3. Geoffroy Robert suffered the loss. Long Beach, at 57-62, sits in 6th place in the Frick League Pacific Division.
