Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Cyclones
|
Behind the hitting of Steve Pick, the Omaha Cyclones stopped the Madison Wolves, 6-2. Pick was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Cyclones. With the win over Madison, the Cyclones improved to 50-70.
Omaha went in front, 3-2, on Pat Loder's 30th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Loder hit in the top of the eighth, left Madison pitcher Pedro Juárez visibly perturbed.
Said losing manager Will Myers: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
