The Hustlers faced a stiff challenge from Calgary pitcher Edmond Thomas, but persevered to claim a win at The Stockyard. The final score was 2-1. Thomas went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs. Rafael González earned the save, his 8th, for the Hustlers. With the win, the Hustlers hiked their record to 64-57.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Armando Díaz was at the plate when Las Vegas scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Hustlers to go in front, 2-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Calgary skipper Tony Franco, "and it cost us."
