In a low-scoring contest between the Mexico City Aztecs and the Austin Shredders, Miguel Angel Hernández was the X factor. The Mexico City right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Hernández, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The Shredders drop to 5-8, as their stumbling start to the 2065 season continues.

The Aztecs got a big hit from catcher Ross DeVille. Facing Austin pitcher Bernie Stuart in the top of the fifth, DeVille pounded a run-scoring double to left. His 4th double of the season put the Aztecs ahead, 3-1.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," DeVille said in reaction to the win.
