Mahjoub Kimutai was at the head of a Albuquerque hit parade at Coyotes Cove. The third baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Coyotes to a nice 12-5 victory over the Lincoln Loggers.

"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Kimutai told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."

Loggers skipper Víctor Díaz said later that the club gave up "too much plate."

"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."

Mahjoub Kimutai singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Zephyr Skouphas in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
