Spuds Take Nail-Biter Over Pioneers
|
The timely hitting of William Coleman helped the Boise Spuds down the Calgary Pioneers, 5-3. Coleman was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Spuds. Boise reliever Tim Stops picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Edward Harrison absorbed the loss. With the win, Boise lifts its record to 6-8.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the 12th. With Boise trailing 3-2, Coleman jumped on a fastball from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Edward Harrison and hit a 3-run home run to left. With one swing, the Spuds had a walk-off win.
"The crowd was raucous," said Coleman.
