Nine Lose, 5-3, at Brownie Field
|
Brownie Field was the site of a competitive game between the Yellow Springs Nine and Brook Park Brownies.
The Brook Park Brownies cut down the Yellow Springs Nine by the score of 5-3, with the largest share of the credit going to third baseman Thurman Dostie. Dostie went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Brownies. Picking up the win was António Fox. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 2.
With Brook Park leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Dostie hit a changeup from Dewey Harris for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Brownies ahead, 3-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Dostie.
The Brownies with just their 4th win in 14 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
