Mad Popes Handed 8-3 Loss by San Fernando
|
The 8-3 San Fernando win over Sacramento was due in large part to Manny Trujillo. The Bears catcher went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Morris Chapa, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 1-1. Sacramento is 10-4 after the loss.
Early in the game, left fielder Bill Irvine had a 2-run double for San Fernando. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Bears on top, 2-0.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Trujillo.
