Black Sox Send Madison Home with 5-4 Loss
|
The Chicago Black Sox defeated the Madison Wolves, 5-4, in Frick League action at Shotz Stadium. Chicago pitcher Stevie Bodine had a standout performance. In 7.1 innings, Bodine surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Earning his 6th save for Chicago was Richard Lawrence.
In the top of the fifth inning, the Black Sox grabbed the lead when Jeremy Starks rapped a two-out single. Chicago was trailing 1-0, when Starks hit a 2-run single off Tyler Murray to put his team in front, 2-1.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Chicago manager Rocky Wattson.
The Wolves drop to 8-8 and continue their mediocre start to the 2063 season.
