Blazers Fall Short, 1-0, at Cobble Hill
|
The Cobble Hill Robins had to overcome a good performance from Montreal pitcher Lúcio Juárez to claim a 1-0 win at McDermott Park at Ebbets Field. Juárez went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Noori bin Mu'awiyah picked up the save for Cobble Hill, his 2nd of the year. Montreal, with the loss, is still a hardy 13-5.
The Robins got a big at-bat from third baseman António Liñares. For the game, Liñares went 1-3 with a home run. In the bottom of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Cobble Hill a 1-0 lead.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Montreal manager Paul Scholes.
