Spuds Earn 5-4 Win Against Shredders
Austin catcher Haydar Syeda had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-4, to Boise in 11 innings. Syeda was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Mario Santos, who finished 5th in the JL in saves with 38 in 2060, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. With the win, Boise elevates its record to 11-10.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 11th, 27-year old center fielder Amphibian Johnson had a chance to be the hero. Austin pitcher Edward Joseph Pfeffer had other ideas. But with no outs, Johnson hit a sacrifice fly. The Spuds had themselves a dramatic win.

Said Johnson: "What's not to like about a walk-off win?"
