Oysters Deal Talons 6-1 Loss
|
The Rocky Mountain Oysters handed the Phoenix Talons a 6-1 defeat at Denny's Paul D. Lunn Memorial Stadium Presented By Subaru. Left Fielder Max Shepperson starred for Rocky Mountain. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Rocky Mountain pitcher Steven Flannery got the win. He's now 2-2. Richard Balgera was tagged with the loss. The Talons, now 7-14, continue their slow start.
There was more than one reason the Oysters beat the Talons, but Shepperson's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"Enjoyed this one," Shepperson told the Rocky Mountain Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
