Down to Defeat Go Aztecs, 3-1
|
Dave Corfield pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Mexico City Aztecs, despite Corfield's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Boise Spuds at Quetzalcoatl Dome. Boise pitcher Brian Groves earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Dave Corfield suffered the loss. Boise is now 13-11.
Cosmo Pan's at-bat in the top of the sixth inning was a big one for Boise. Coming to bat with one out, a runner on 3rd and Boise trailing 1-0, the left fielder hit a run-scoring double.
"Do what you're good at," said Boise manager Mario Contreras. "That's all I ask of the team."
