Mendoza Hits 2 home runs in Mounties Win
The Vancouver Mounties knocked off the Valencia Stars, 11-0, at Dunn Field. Sergio Mendoza was a big reason Vancouver won. The third baseman went 3 for 6 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Abdul-Halim bin Mansur earned the win for Vancouver. He lasted 8 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. The Stars drop to 10-14, as their stumbling start to the 2062 season continues.

With Vancouver leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Mendoza hit a cutter from Jonathan Bryant for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Mounties ahead, 3-0.

"What a dismal performance," lamented losing manager Roberto Solís.
