Pioneers Suffer 4-1 Home Loss
|
Austin pitcher Wilson López had a large part in his team beating the Calgary Pioneers, 4-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The save went to Pedro Arenas, number 2 for him. The Shredders keep rolling, raising their record to 16-9.
Austin needed the clutch hitting of Luis Rúbio to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Shredders on top, 3-1. For the game, Rúbio had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
When asked about his performance after the game, López said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
