Bears Get Past Hawaii, 5-4
The San Fernando Bears picked up a win at Chico's Bail Bonds Field, knocking off the Hawaii Tropics, 5-4. Starting pitcher Jerry Richards was a big reason why. The win takes San Fernando to 16-9.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Yuu Suzuki came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Hawaii pitcher Gheorghe Sollomovici, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting San Fernando on top, 5-4.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said San Fernando manager Gonzalo Escobar.
