Starting pitcher Richard Balgera gave the Phoenix Talons a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Boise Spuds, 3-2, at Denny's Paul D. Lunn Memorial Stadium Presented By Subaru. The loss drops the Boise record to a disappointing 10-16.

The Talons were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when former first round draft pick Adrian Tallent landed a big blow. He turned a 2-2 slider from Mario Santos into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Denny's Paul D. Lunn Memorial Stadium Presented By Subaru denizens into a frenzy and sent the Talons home with a thrilling 3-2 win.

"Richard pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Phoenix manager Thad Meyer.
