The Portland Lumberjacks knocked off the Valencia Stars, 4-2, in Frick League action at Dunn Field. Portland pitcher and Elur, India, native Murali Patachli had an outstanding performance. The Stars, now 8-18, continue their slow start.

Sammy McNeill chipped in for Portland, stroking a crucial 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"It was a good effort all around," said McNeill.
