Greg Squires, who is tied for 5th in the FL in extra base hits with 15, had a 3-RBI night to help the Portland Lumberjacks down the Valencia Stars, 8-3. Erasmo González snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 1.2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. The loss has the Stars at 8-19.

The most important at-bat for Portland came in the top of the 12th inning, when center fielder Matt Pruitt stroked a first pitch sinker to center for a run-scoring single, putting Portland up, 4-3.

"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Pruitt.
