Rocky Mountain Beats Boise, 4-3
|
Rocky Mountain picked up a win at F. Nephi Grigg Memorial Stadium, bumping off the Boise Spuds, 4-3. Pitcher Ken Steele was a major reason the Oysters emerged victorious. Steele, now 2-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 1, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The Spuds fall to 10-18.
Rocky Mountain used a clutch at-bat from Shane Holmes to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Oysters ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Ken did a good job of managing their lineup," said Rocky Mountain manager Marquise Cattaneo.
