The Portland Lumberjacks did just enough to sneak past the Vancouver Mounties, 7-6, at Northwoods Outpost. Portland pitcher Mauro Esperanda, in particular, had a standout performance. Frank Wilson closed it out for his 7th save. The loss makes Vancouver 12-16.

Portland first baseman Graeme Odhieng contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Lumberjacks ahead, 7-0.

"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Portland skipper Mons Raider.
