Late Offense Lifts Austin to 9-3 Victory
Getting offensive support from Takanobu Komatsu, the Austin Shredders topped the Mexico City Aztecs, 9-3. Komatsu went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Shredders. Manny Aguilar, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The Aztecs fall to 10-19 and continue their lackluster start in 2063.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Socrates Kazantziakis was at the plate when Austin scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Shredders to go in front, 4-3.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Mexico City manager Markus O'Byrne.
