Silva Strokes 5 Hits
After a 5-hit effort to lead Yellow Springs's 13-7 victory over the Omaha Cyclones, second baseman Juan Silva told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Brewster Baseball Association-level is really something special."

The 25-year-old player earned his accolades at Mordonez Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Cyclones.

"His swing is getting there," said Nine skipper Bill Inkster, who spoke glowingly of Silva after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Juan did that to perfection."

Juan Silva hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a three-run double in the 9th.

Silva is hitting at a .290 mark this season. His stats show 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has played 28 games for the Nine.
