Ramos goes 4-for-4 in Montreal Win
|
The Montreal Blazers stymied the New Orleans Crawdads, 6-0, at Ubisoft Field. Jesús Ramos had a good day at the plate. He went 4-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for Montreal. Luis González, the winner, improved to 3-1. He held New Orleans to no runs on 5 hits over 8.1 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. The Crawdads, now 11-19, continue their inauspicious start.
Denes Terovolas had a big 2-run home run for the Blazers in the bottom of the first inning. With Montreal leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from 31-year old right-handed pitcher Jason Nelson and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Blazers on top, 3-0.
Said losing manager Luis Hernández: "Give the Blazers credit. They played a better game than we did."
