Nashville 23-7 After 3-1 Victory
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Nashville Bluebirds and Twin Cities River Monsters.
The Nashville Bluebirds rode a solid performance from 37-year-old starting pitcher Phil Cole to a win, beating the Twin Cities River Monsters, 3-1, at Les Paul Field. Cole yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-2.
Nashville took the lead, 3-0, on Colby Triska's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Twin Cities pitcher Andrés Gonzáles in the bottom of the seventh.
"Phil is one tough son of a gun," said Nashville manager Brent Ross.
Early on, the Bluebirds, at 23-7, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
