The Phoenix Talons could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Richard Balgera into a win. Instead, the San Antonio Outlaws prevailed, 4-2. Balgera threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs. Yeow-whye Chao earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The Talons fall to 13-18 and continue their lackluster start in 2062.

San Antonio needed the clutch hitting of Shoin Yoshida to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Outlaws on top, 3-2. For the game, Yoshida had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Afterward, Outlaws manager Johnnie Oh said, "We had some good at-bats, some big at-bats in some key situations."
