Sacramento Absorbs 6-3 Loss to Bikini
|
Bikini center fielder Stephen Schmidt was instrumental in helping the Krill triumph, 6-3, over the Sacramento Mad Popes. Schmidt went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Masami Kichida earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Winston Morris picked up the save for Bikini, his 11th of the year.
Bikini used a timely hit from Mike McClure to get the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Krill ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Bikini manager Kate Fiscus.
The Krill are now 18-15.
