Quetzalcoatl Dome was the site for Johnson League action featuring the Mexico City Aztecs and Phoenix Talons.

Phoenix turned a good effort from starter Doug Eckhoff into a win over the Mexico City Aztecs at Quetzalcoatl Dome. The final score was 5-1. Eckhoff picked up the win for Phoenix, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.

Phoenix used a well-timed hit by Pedro Toro to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Talons ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Eckhoff.

Mexico City, with the loss, is still a robust 3-1.
