Aztecs Notch 7-5 Win Versus Swamp Foxes
|
The Mexico City Aztecs weathered a fine game by Cape Fear left fielder António Huerta to upend the Swamp Foxes, 7-5, at Quetzalcoatl Dome. Huerta went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. The Swamp Foxes, at 17-17, have lost 4 straight games.
The Aztecs got a big at-bat from third baseman Erik Vatne. For the game, Vatne went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Mexico City a 7-4 lead.
"Nice win for us," said Vatne. "Now we'll go after the next one."
