Portland Loss Tarnishes Squires Performance
The Sacramento Mad Popes had to overcome a big game from Portland right fielder Greg Squires to leave The Trail in Multnomah with a victory. And they did, winning, 13-5. Squires went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Sacramento pitcher Sergio Rosales got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Aswad Azeem got the loss. The win lifted the Sacramento record to 24-11.

Lou Bayou hit a 2-run double off Sameer Abdul-Malik in the top of the fourth, which put the Mad Popes in front, 5-4. In addition to the double, Bayou had 3 singles, while going 4 for 6.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Bayou said.
