The Long Beach Surfers topped the Portland Lumberjacks, 7-3, in Frick League action at Vito Costantino Memorial Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Long Beach pitcher and Surprise, Arizona, native Brody Picot. The 'W' lifts Long Beach's record to 14-23.

Héctor Herrera hit a bases-clearing triple off John O'Leary in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Surfers in front, 6-3. Herrera had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 2.

"We didn't play well enough to win," said Portland skipper Mons Raider.
