Mad Popes Suffer 7-5 Home Loss
The Vancouver Mounties besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Sacramento shortstop António Liñares by beating the Mad Popes, 7-5, at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough. Liñares was 3-3 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 2. Picking up the win was Micah Harrington. He went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 2. Vancouver has a record of 22-15, placing them third in the Frick League Pacific Division.

Vancouver won the game in part because of Sergio Mendoza. The third baseman ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Mounties ahead, 3-0. For the game, Mendoza had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
