Chicago Beats Yellow Springs, 7-4
|
Though he had a terrific game, Cecil Durdle could not prevent his team, the Yellow Springs Nine, from absorbing a loss. Chicago won the game, 7-4. Durdle slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Orlando Rúbio got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Nine to 1 run on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Richard Lawrence.
The Chicago dugout showed signs of unrest at times. But the Black Sox put this one in the win column with some good pitching and some timely hitting at critical moments.
With the win, Chicago is 2-2.
